Hi there
The Office Wiki was created by one of the admin, DaHumorist in May 28, 2006 to served as database for the NBC series The Office since it started aired. Since then, the wiki had been visiting by a ton of new editor trying to help support the wiki by editing the article and stuff. Even after the series already ended in 2013, this wiki still active througout the years until now.
However, this wiki practically wasn't much of a good place to someone who need to find an specific info from the series, as the wiki have a lot issues to be dealing with. For example;
- 1.Fake and unnecessary Article
The wiki currently have 1275 pages which covered up all about the office; character, location, jokes, etc. I'm impressed how all the article (especially about joke) have an impressive detail about the respective topic. However, there's a lot of page that covering up a fake article like a fanon story or things that never exist in the series. This is mostly the biggest problem of this wiki, as there's at least a hundred of fake article standing still. A lot of them already been marked for deletion, but since there isn't an active admin, the page still right there, standing and waiting to be filled again with a fake information.
- 2.Guidelines or Policy
Every wiki on Fandom that served as database to a famous television series always have a Guidelines or policy. Guidelines is meant to guide editor about the editing style used on this wiki, while policy is to keep control of editor action of what should and shouldn't they do on this wiki. This way, we can keep this wiki away from all the error or mischievous action commited by contributor. And, speaking of mischievous;
- 3.Vandalism
Even after the series already finished aired with their ninth season in 2013, this wiki still crowded by new editor or even the old one, trying to improve some of the article. While there's a lot of editor who doing an good edit, there's also a lot of them who been trying to sabotage this wiki by doing an harmful edit like inserting a nonsense to article, deleting important content at some page, and inserting gibberish etc. And due to this wiki doesn't have an active admin, this act still continue until now.
Because of this, i'm planning to putting an adoption on this wiki and work at this three huge problem so The Office wiki back into a good and healthy wiki, like any other television wiki. If you have anything to say, feel free to dropping some of your thought on this blog post.
