Name of this site

I'm new here, but how is this page NOT called "Dunder Mifflin Infinity"?

NBC

Hello, I am trying to make a nbc wiki and I need support for the request, since this is a wiki on a NBC show I hope a couple of you can support my request. Jimwitz 03:22, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Default skin

The default skin is very creative, but it's just awful from a functionality standpoint. The entire site is almost completely illegible. What you need is a nice sans serif font, like this one (the typewriter font has got to go), and a much lighter and less busy background (or none at all). I realize I could change it in my personal settings, but I'm willing to bet that a lot of other people would feel similarly. — LCARS 18:11, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
The default skin for newcomers is now quartzsmoke. Do you find that one more usable than the old monobook one you're using? Angela (talk) 19:35, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Okay, I'll work on lightening the current background image so it is more legible. As for the font, I don't see a problem with it. It functions fine and works well with our theme of The Office. DaHumorist 20:50, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Angela: If by default skin you mean the one that users see when they're not logged in, then MonoBook is still what I see. DaHumorist: Are you on a Mac? On Windows systems (which most users are going to be using), Courier New (used in the majority of this reply) renders far better than Courier. Using a serif font, like this one, wouldn't be so bad (by the way, why does it fall back to a serif font instead of a monospaced one if Courier isn't on the system?). Studies have shown, however, that sans serif fonts are the easiest to read on screen.[1] [2] On the other hand, monospaced fonts are brutal when you're trying to navigate a huge chunk of text. Perhaps the theme could be adjusted so that form does not trump function. LCARS 00:21, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
As I can see you feel strongly about, this i have changed it to a sans-serif font. If there is anything else you think needs changing as far as design is concerned, I'm definately open to suggestions. DaHumorist 11:33, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for your attention to this concern. How does the background appear on your screen? At the resolution I use (1280 pixels), the orange paper becomes a thin strip in between two pieces of legal paper. Is this the intended effect? LCARS 20:46, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
I have once again changed the background to appease the other users. it is now simply a faded lined paper. If there is STILL a problem with this, please tell me what you would prefer. DaHumorist 21:20, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

Wikipedia Material

On wikipedia there are complete episode synopsis' for almost every episode. My question is should we just copy some of the material from wikipedia straight to this wiki? Seems like at the very least it would save time. Liberalkid

Both wikis are licensed under the GFDL, so it's fine to do that. I suggest you use the {{wikipedia}} template for attribution. Angela (talk) 23:31, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

Collaborative scripts for "The Office"

I've submitted a proposal for a new Wikia dedicated to collaborative fan-created scripts for some of the more popular shows that have gone into unplanned hiatus or been suspended, due to the writers' strike. "The Office" regulars have just been suspended and the studio's contracts with the writers may be dissolved as early as next week. Perhaps, through the power of Wikia, Office fans can generate a few production-quality scripts that Universal Media can consider picking up, rather than (potentially) canceling prodcution of an indefinite number of unwritten episodes. This request is still pending, so any support this wiki's community can lend on the proposal page would be greatly appreciated.

New skin

Hi!

Several months ago, Wikia released a new site skin called Monaco. The new skin features tools which make it much easier for visitors to find content and edit it. You can read all about Monaco here. As you can read on that page, while you will still be able to select Monobook (this wiki's current default skin) as the skin you personally use to view the site (via Special:Preferences), we are no longer able to support Monobook as a default skin for anonymous visitors. So, we need to change the default skin to Monaco.

There are a number of pre-built themes for Monaco. Check out how the homepage looks in Sapphire, Jade, Slate, Smoke, Beach, and Brick, and let me know which one you like best. In addition to those pre-built themes, you can build your own custom themes as well. Check out the custom themes on the Shaiya Wiki and the Diablo Wiki. You can learn about customizing the theme, menus and other aspects of Monaco here.

Take a look at that information, and let me know which theme you think might work best. We need to change the skin by Friday, October 31st, so I am here to make that transition as easy as possible. Let me know if you have any questions, or if I can help in any way.

Thanks! --KyleH (talk) 18:39, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

For the time being, let's use Smoke. Though I'll definately want to do some customizing at a later time. DaHumorist 16:58, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
Great. I'll switch it now. If you need any help customizing it, let me know and I'll be happy to assist. --KyleH (talk) 17:49, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

new episodes

EW.com reported that 2 upcoming episodes are called "Two Weeks Notice," and "The New Boss" so why isn't it added

Episode Situation

I believe that the episode order on Dunderpedia is somewhat out of line. Check http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0386676/episodes and compare the order of the episodes. Thurrn the Ranger 18:21, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

I wouldn't doubt it. It probably is because it is all edited by us, so if you see somthing wrong fix it.--My Name Is Tom 10:24, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

New Employee of the Month

Can't there be a new employee of the month already?

New Section

How about a section for links under or by "The Office News" section?

I agree--Dwide Schrude 02:52, December 20, 2009 (UTC)Dwide Schrude

Subtle Sexuality

Can we put Subtle Sexuality under 'Webisodes section???

Main Page Picture

The new office logo sign extends beyond the boundaries of the actual page, meaning it can't be seen without scrolling over. Thought you might want to fix this.--Lizardo 21:42, December 21, 2009 (UTC)

Finally, a better Dunderpedia

We've got it. A better Dunderpedia. Let's make these articles much better. We have to revamp this website to get it going again. Thanks, and keep fixing those pages--Dwide Schrude 03:22, December 22, 2009 (UTC)Dwide Schrude

Really terrific job! The new look really gives Dunderpedia a new start. Can't wait to get going!

Main Cast

I see that there is a six cast member section. To be fair the section should either include the full main cast or just the characters in the title sequence (removing Andy). The my knowledge the main cast currently includes Creed, Phyllis, Darrel, Kelly, Meredith, Angela, Kevin, Oscar, Toby, Stanley, and Erin.--Tikopowii 05:23, January 2, 2010 (UTC)

weird redirect from the main page

I've never posted here before, but I wanted to let the maintainers know about a weird problem I've been having here. Everytime I open the wiki, I get redirected to a youtube video immediately -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rt4JAcluraU

Upon investigation, I've discovered that this is the 'selected clip' at the bottom of the page. I've never had this problem on other webpages with embedded videos, it's only ever happened for me here which leads me to believe there's something in the coding causing my browser to do this. I have to press the 'stop load' button immediately whenever I visit the site, otherwise it takes me to youtube. I'm lucky in that the main site loads quickly for me so when I press 'stop load' I usually have everything I need on the page to navigate to whatever I'm looking for, but it's still troubling that I have to do this or I get redirected.

Any idea why this is happening? Is it doing this for anyone else?

-Erin

Sorta new

Hey its Bubbles. I love the office its really funny but once Micheal left it turned like three notches down on the funny meter. sorry Andy. You aren't that funny and Dwight Pam and Jim have to be the funniest and then there is Kevin... hahah Kevin... welp BYE BubblestheLlama 19:55, January 3, 2012 (UTC)

Character Pages

I think we ought to reconfigure the character pages, notably Dwight's. Now, I don't know how things are configured here (having just come from The Mummy Wiki), but back at the Mummy Wiki, we don't mention characters as "fictional". We take the tone that suggests that, for their continuity, they're real people. I just think it best if that is what we do here. Oh, and of course, we could be more precise about character history: why not preface each article with an "early life" section or something, if we know it about them? This, coupled with listing *everything* revealed about the characters in the seasons they appeared, would make the articles all better. --DunderMifflinFreak 07:21, May 18, 2012 (UTC)

Protecting

You guys really need to protect the Main Page, to prevent vandals from getting a hold of it. When it says Michael Scott, and Dwight Schrute, it says McDouchenstine for Michael Scott, and Napoleon Dynamite for Dwight Schrute. And also, anons are just pointlessly editing it. So, can you protect the mainpage?

Do you hear that? That's the grape roaring. (talk) 19:52, January 3, 2014 (UTC)

It was actually the CastPortal template that was edited. I protected the template. Jrobson (talk) 21:12, January 3, 2014 (UTC)
