Hidetoshi "Hide" Hasagawa (pronounced "hee-day") is a warehouse worker on The Office, but was a former surgeon, he attended the prestigious Tokyo University (a.k.a. Tōdai) and later killed a Yakuza boss. He is played by Hideotoshi Imura.
Season 3
Hide appears throughout several episodes, but has not spoken.
Season 5
Hide sits with his wife during Michael's roast. ("Prince Family Paper") He appears in several other episodes, but never talks.
Season 6
He appears in several episodes, but never talks.
In his first speaking role, we find that he speaks English poorly. He explains that he was a surgeon in Japan. One day while performing surgery on a Yakuza mob boss, the man died. As a result of this, he fled the country and went to America to start a new life. He credits Darryl for saving his life, and shares a secret with the documentary crew: He actually killed the boss of the Yakuza on purpose. ("St. Patrick's Day")
Dwight recruits Hide to apply for the "Print in All Colors" executive training program, because he wants to undermine Kelly's application. Hide begins the interview by describing his former career as a surgeon.
Season 8
Hide quit after he and the other warehouse workers won the lottery in the episode Lotto. Darryl later mentions that he is using his money to invest in an energy drink for Asian homosexuals. In the episode Family Portrait, he and Glenn return after blowing all their money on investing in the energy drink. Darryl hires him back.
Season 9
While Pam is trying to paint her mural, Hide stands below her scissor lift and watches her. Pam tells him that she could be here awhile and he could probably go back to what he was doing however he continues to stand there and watch her awkwardly. Later while Pam is explaining the inspiration for her mural, Hide yells "Your painting sucks!" to which Pam yells back at him to shut up (The Target).
When Pam is trying to paint her mural, Hide annoys her by asking why she is painting bushes when paper comes from trees. Pam tells him that Dwight is hiring for a sales position job upstairs in order to get rid of him and he goes upstairs to interview. He interviews however Dwight decides not to hire him (Junior Salesman).
