Dunder Mifflin Northeast was the proposed branch to be created through the merger of the Scranton branch into the Stamford branch. The new division would have consisted of Stamford overseeing all of the offices in the Northeast. When Josh Porter resigned to take a management position at Staples, the merger was thrown into disarray. The plans for Dunder Mifflin Northeast were cancelled, and Stamford was downsized (although some of its employees were moved to Scranton).
