Favorite Relationship News
There are two news flashes that relate to the Favorite Relationship Poll Bracket.
First, if you feel passionate about a couple, please type their names in the chat after you vote, so for the next wildcard round, they might be able to be revived!
Second, from now on, a brief summary and prediction will be typed out in the chat box each poll for information on the matchup.
Round 2 Format
I have reviewed all of the previous matchups and chosen the couples of each matchup that had the closest finish- Michael & Donna, AJ & Holly, Andy & Jessica, Toby & Nellie, Michael & Jan, Stanley & Cynthia, Senator Lipton & Angela, and Jim & Katy.
Each of these couples will battle one other couple. Win and you clinch a spot in Round 3. Lose, and you’re out of the competition for good.
Round 2 Agenda
Michael & Jan VS Jim & Katy
AJ & Holly VS Andy & Jessica
Senator Lipton & Angela VS Toby & Nellie
Michael & Donna VS Stanley & Cynthia
Round 1 Recap
Let’s recap the first round, shall we?
We first start off with AJ & Holly Vs Michael & Donna. As much of our Fandom community dislikes both couples (AJ & Holly for the disruption of Michael & Holly and Michael & Donna because of the immoralness of the relationship), it was a pick-your-poison match. Soon, Michael & Donna slowly came back and seized the lead by 2 percent, but then a few days after the poll started, AJ & Holly got two more votes, first tying up the match and then bringing them to take the lead by a few percentages. However, because of the close finish, both couples have to participate in the wildcard round.
On the same day, it’s Pete & Erin Vs Dwight & Angela. A picture mishap causes confusion, but even the people who voted Pete & Erin intentionally or unintentionally couldn’t stop the overwhelming number of voters who showed their support for Dwangela.
Senator Lipton & Oscar Vs Bob Vance & Phyllis kicks off the next day of polling. It’s no contest. The conflicting and suspicious affair of Robert & Oscar is no match for Bob & Phyllis, who only let their rivals get 14% of votes.
It’s not easy to predict the winner of Michael & Helene Vs Jim & Karen. Many dislike Michael & Helene and Jim & Karen for ruining Pam’s happiness- Helene & Michael because of family bonds and Jim & Karen because of jealousy. However, Michael 7 Helene lost to Jim & Karen by a considerable amount of ballots.
In Andy & Jessica Vs Toby & Nellie, the battle is close for quite a while. Andy & Jessica caused trouble for the relationship of Andy & Erin, while Toby kept acting like he was Nellie’s boyfriend when Nellie made it clear that he was not, and Toby even became a bit of a stalker. However, Andy & Jessica’s healthy relationship beat out Toby & Nellie’s unhealthy one, though it was a close call and both couples will have to participate in the wildcard round.
On the same day, Michael & Holly face off against Pete & Alice. It’s a no-brainer- The forgettable Pete & Alice only get 8 percent of the votes, getting Michael & Holly’s win the least amount of deficit, shooting them to the top of the favorites leaderboard.
Michael & Concierge Marie Vs Andy & Erin is a bit of a forgettable matchup. Andy & Erin won by a normal amount of votes, and the blandness and non-upset of this match give it the tendency to not come up in many other discussions.
Ryan & Kelly Vs Dwight & Esther is the next matchup. One person (@HarleyQuinn1212) writes in the chat box that they would definitely not choose Ryan & Kelly, but apparently, their views are disagreeable, as Ryan & Kelly win the matchup.
This is not an unexpected result. When Jim & Pam Vs Darryl & Kelly comes about, the fan favorites Jim & Pam easily mop the floor with Darryl & Kelly, who only get 12 percent of the votes, giving them the second farthest loss, behind Pete & Alice’s disgraceful failure to faze Michael & Holly.
Stanley & Cynthia create a considerable lead over Michael & Jan, with a commenter (@SwitchPlayer69) even verbally insulting Jan. But Michael & Jan are able to slowly creep up on Stanley & Cynthia, and in another case of picking your poison, Michael & Jan scrape a win, although both will have to go to the wildcard round.
Roy & Pam Vs Darryl & Val is another one of the extreme matchups. Darryl & Val get more than 80 percent of the votes, which is quite a surprising amount, as Darryl and Val, coming into this bracket, were not seen as too much of a threat. However, this may just be due to the fact that lots of people despise Roy & Pam’s weak relationship.
Ravi & Kelly Vs Carol & Michael is another forgettable match. Both aren’t exactly fan favorites, but both aren’t constantly ranted about for the unhealthiness in their relationships. Although this fact remained apparent in much of the polling, Ravi & Kelly won by a margin that isn’t anything to sneeze at.
Jim & Katy Vs Senator Lipton & Angela was a close battle. Many people only picked Robert & Angela because of the way Jim treated Katy, but because of an unexpected twist of events, Jim & Katy slipped out to a lead more than a day after the poll started, though not a very big one, causing them to take the final wildcard round spot.
Dwight & Isabel Vs Andy & Angela wasn’t much of a surprise. Due to complications and less love in Andy & Angela’s relationship than Dwight & Isabel’s, the fling couple is able to win this round, 70-30.
Robert California & Susan Vs Oscar & Gil wasn’t exactly what you would call an extreme matchup. Since both relationships weren’t too prominent in the series, there isn’t much to take note about this relationship, but because of the
way the California relationship ended, most people picked Oscar & Gil.
For the final match in the first round, Kevin & Lynn square off against Gabe & Erin. It’s a bit of a shock. Kevin & Lynn, who only stuck around in the background for a few episodes, beat out Gabe & Erin by more than twice Gabe & Erin’s votes. But to be fair, Gabe & Erin do get lots of hate for giving Andy & Erin’s relationship a bit of a hard time.
Round 2 Predictions (Do not let these influence your vote!)
Michael & Jan Vs Jim & Katy’s matchup might go with Jim & Katy, seeing how they got a come-from-behind win over Senator Lipton & Angela.
AJ & Holly Vs Andy & Jessica’s matchup would probably end up with a win for Andy & Jessica, as they won their match with a bigger amount of votes, and AJ & Holly have a bit of a worse reputation.
Senator Lipton & Angela Vs Toby & Nellie’s matchup is hard to predict. Both aren’t despicable couples, and neither seemed to be liked too much. We’ll leave this one up to poll day!
Michael & Donna Vs Stanley & Cynthia’s matchup is also hard to judge. Both are quite similar, with at least one member of the relationship cheating on their spouse, and they both lost by only a few percentages. If I had to choose though, Stanley & Cynthia might clutch this one.
